Bought a new upgraded trac phone because old phones battery was not holding a charge for long. Bought new phone and it did not work as I only received 1 bar. The tracphone rep could not transfer the min back to my old phone and now I do not have a working phone. The rep spoke terrible English. I think I am about done with this outfit

TracFone - Minutes not transferred to new phone, terrible customer service

Just purchased TracFone through QVC for 1 year service/1.5 data/1500 phone minutes/1500 texts. Qvc assured me tracfone would transfer my existing phone minutes from current tracfone to new tracfone. Well, tracfone managed to transfer my number to the new phone but not the existing 1409 phone minutes. I should have had a total of 2909 phone minutes. Tacfone was tols this the day of the new phone actuvation on 12/23/2018 and they said the problem would be resolved in 24 hours. They lied. I called "customer service" (they are anything but) to explain the problem. The non English person on the phone kept repeating herself and refused to understand the complaint, which is my missing 1409 phone minutes. She kept insisting that my 1500 minutes were already added, to which I would explain AGAIN that I should have a total 2909 minutes and that my prior minutes were never transferred. 40 min later she "transfers" me to "the proper department" another 40 minutes and a night stuck in a scene from Groundhog Day, the guy "supervisor" finally states that 1399 minutes were authorized to be added back to my account (10 minutes less than I paid for). I got a ticket number...but no minutes. I plan on filing a complaint with QVC (not their fault but they should know who they are dealing with), the better business bureau, and any other company I can find. I am calling a lawyer to see about suing them for the cash value of the minutes they stole and will see about a class action lawsuit because I am reading that this has happened to many people.

Hi, this is IdealisticFoxTerrier802 again, really I don't know how to log onto this site so I just keep posting comments. I have an update on this same TracFone: now the pos won't connect to my WiFi no matter what I do.

I have tried everything but smashing it with a hammer. I have tried re-entering all wifi logon/password data. I have turned on and off the wifi repeatedly, ditto with the phone. No go.

The best I get is 2 seconds of searching before it states "disabled". Half the time it just half spins and immediately states disabled. I highly recommend that people never ever buy the TracFone/LG phone fron QVC.

Not QVC's fault this phone SUCKS! What a waste of money and all the frustration one could ever want in one life time.

Update, Tracfone finally added missing phone minutes, but shorted me 20 minutes. They initially said that 1399 minutes were "authorized to add" to my account, which is 10 less than the total missing and quite some time later, long after I posted here and posted the reply, I noticed my phone minutes were increased. But why was I shorted a total of 20 minutes? I paid for those minutes.

The "customer service" department is so like an exercise in torture that I don't want to call them ever again? Maybe Tracfone wants it that way? Now I have a new problem. None of my texts will send.

Yes, I have plenty of texts that were just set up with this new phone, and my Wi-Fi is on. So?

This is super fun. Seriously, this will be my last Tracfone.

Hello Alex, I am not going to use the chat option because while I type as fast as I can on my phone using one finger, the person on the other end will repeatedly enter that if I don't respond in 30 seconds they will end the chat. Ask me how I know that.

Same with texting...I will text the issue and get a reply that has nothing to do with the issue, nor will I get the problem solved. Go ahead, ask me how I know that, too.

Trying to transfer service to new phone. Each attempt on their site fails and tells me to call customer service. Multiple call attempts over the past month, no resolution. Horrible. I cannot understand them, nor they me. They've told me, at various times, all of the following: - The phone I'm calling from isn't active. (huh?) - They can't transfer minutes off of my current phone. - The new phone needs a different/new SIM card (they sent me one) - The new phone isn't working. - When we do the transfer, you will lose the minutes on your old phone (>500). Nobody at TracFone will see this or care. Almost no consumers will see this or care. It's my drop in the ocean that will one day form a tidal surge and smash companies that think they can continue to operate this way. At least that's what I like to think. Sigh. Time to shop for a smart phone. Tracfone will not see another penny, or minute spent, from me.

I also tried to change to a new phone and they lost all of my minutes, data and text. I had to purchase more to have them work on the problem, then they could not find my purchase transacton.

When they finally found purchase transaction they shorted me on text. They did not find my orginal minutes, text and data. I have used tracfone for many years with no difficulty.

I am very upset with the company and their lack of caring. I will be leaving.

TracFone - Extremely stupid

I have spent almost a week trying to get someone with a brain at TracFone to fix the problem they created for me when I tried to switch my phone number. i have never been so irritated trying to understand what they were saying because no one spoke English well enough, and getting the run around. i finally gave up, paid the extra money to get a prepaid from us cellular. what a bunch of idiots. DO NOT EVER GET A TRAKFONE unless you want to have a nervous breakdown. and chat is no better. i was told to call customer service every time i went on chat even though i had called customer service, its like being on a merry go round but not fun.

TracFone - Minutes disappeard

I transferred my phone number to a new phone after my old phone died (a Tracfone). Everything was fine until one day later when my new phone stopped working and all of my previous minutes/texts/data mysteriously disappeared. The message I got said that I needed to add "money" to my account. Tracfone says I used over 500 minutes and over 4,000 texts in under 24 hours. When I called their customer service, I was informed that all of my previous minutes/texts/data had been used. Impossible. Tracfone is a completely corrupt company that steals customers money. Never again and I will be filing formal complaints to all agencies that govern these type of rip offs.

TracFone - Still charging me on disconnected phone!

I called TracFone when I transferred my number to a new company. They assured me that automatic billing would stop but I was charged again. I contacted them via chat, which I still have a copy of. Once again I was assured that billing would stop and once again I was billed. All this on top of customer service insisting that I didn't have an account with him because my phone number wasn't listed in their records. I am so tired of this that I've resorted to hoping for a reply on this website! Do not order from this company.

As I stated in my post, I have already tried all of the options you suggest! Actually, I've called several times and chatted too.

I will try chat AGAIN but at this point it appears that I need to put this in writing and send it to your address. Unfortunately, I have to document my efforts in order to get my money returned!

It is unethical on your part to make a customer go through all this. I also plan to submit complaints to the better business bureau etc.

TRACFONE/NET 10 IS A SCAM!

Purchased a Tracfone phone for my elderly mother. When it came time to add minutes to her phone I subsequently purchased a Tracfone Airtime/Refill Card from Walmart. When the PIN from the newly purchased Airtime/Refill Card was entered to activate it, it rejected the information with a message stating that her phone number was not in Tracfone's system. Called Tracfone's 'customer service' number numerous times and was told my mother's phone was not a 'Tracfone' but a 'Net 10' phone. Wait. What? The box the new phone came in and all of the literature when it was purchased had TRACFONE clearly printed all over it. This same phone was activated as a TRACFONE. Tracfone and Net 10 are products owned by the SAME company. Now, this scam company is renaming my mother's phone a 'Net 10' phone and because of this they can't transfer the already purchased minutes over to her phone nor issue a refund. They also had the audacity to tell me I had to now purchase a 'Net 10' card to add minutes to the phone, otherwise nothing else could be done. Walmart said they can't issue a refund because the card is non-refundable. Essentially, Tracfone got my money and I didn't receive the service I paid for. I'm providing this information so that Tracfone/Net 10 is exposed for the fraud that it is. If I could give Tracfone/Net 10 a ZERO or below rating I would.
