TracFone - New phone to replace old one that wont work after January 2021

tried to activate new phone (serial # 356278****03274). transfer remaining minutes over from present outdated one to this new Doro one, but also purchase another 3 months. I do not want to purchase any more time until this new one is working. It does not work, I have tried several times to make a phone call. Keep getting a message that it is restricted. Defective merchandise purchased, Tracfone says too bad...

Long time Tracfone customer. Purchased a new smartphone from the Tracfone website to replace a 5 year old LG. Tried to transfer my service to the new phone through the website. The new phone would not make or receive calls. Contacted Tracfone support for assistance. After 3 attempts to activate my new phone over a 5 day period, Tracfone told me that the phone that I purchased from Tracfone was defective and they could not activate it (a phone issue). At this point they told me to bad, they were not going to replace the phone or in any way assist me in upgrading my phone. It was on me to pay to ship the phone back, wait up to 30 days for a refund, take a chance on buying another phone from Tracfone (may or may not work), and try again. The correct answer would have been to apologize for sending me a defective phone, send me a replacement with a shipping label to return the defective phone, and ask me to call them back when I received the phone so they could honor my initial request to upgrade my phone. Be aware that if you purchase something from the Tracfone website and it is defective, you will have to pay to return the item, they do not pay for returns under any circumstance. Poor customer service.

At 2:00pm I'm calling asking for help to upgrade my phone, all that foreign *** wanted to do was sell me another phone and the it could be serviced. The man I talked to yesterday told me to take it to best buy. They could upgrade it for me. To TracFone, thanks for nothing. (As usual). I'm sorry I ever chose TracFone! TracFone - Beware of the "free" replacement phone for 2g cancellation

Like so many others, got a text from Tracfone saying my tracfone service was ending on my 2G phone and that I must get a different phone (at no charge) and must do it right away before the network cancelled or they couldn't transferred the time and minutes I already own. I stupidly assumed that they would be sending me the same quality phone as the one I already owned. Received a lousy quality flip phone. Back to texting in the dark ages. There should definitely be a law against this kind of thing. Am looking for the proper authorities to report this scam to. If someone knows, please share. Thanks.

TracFone - Ripoff upgrade phone

When I originally started with Tracfone I had trouble with the cheap phone models ( I tried two of them) so I purchased what was the top of the line Tracfone with qwerty keyboard, triple minutes and an acceptable still and video camera. I've now accumulated 3000 minutes of airtime. I was just sent my 3G upgrade phone and it's a junk flip phone with no camera and I think it's only double minutes. I'm going to file a complaint with the FCC and my State Attorney General and anybody else that will listen like my local news stations consumer affairs department. I have read that Tracfone has been fined twice recently for there illegal business practices.

TracFone - They changed my phone number without my authorizations!!!!

I received a coupon for upgrading to a new phone. I needed a smartphone so I did. The new phone didn't activate, so I online chatted with a customer service. The guy said the phone number has not transferred to a new phone, so he can do it with the same phone number and the airtime, no problem. So we spent about 30 minutes to activate the phone and it did. I even called from the phone and I even called TO that phone after the chat. My OLD PHONE NUMBER WAS WORKING. Then about 2 hrs later, I got a message from Tracfone, saying "this is your new phone number...."(!). So I checked my old number, it is not working any longer. The new number is working. I contacted the customer service, I was told that the old number is deactivated and I cannot get it back. She first told me no numbers can be deactivated without the customer's authorization. I told her it was active and I did not give any authorizations and asked for the explanation, then she changed and told me that the previous customer service left a note saying my number was already deactivated. This is not true! I even used that number after the chat!! This is a big issue that the phone number can be changed without the client's authorizations!!! So, I asked to talk to have the supervisor to contact me to my email. She insisted that the supervisor can contact by phone only (so that there will be no record? I will record the conversation). Anyway, this is their fault and they don't even apologize. The customer service was never good, but can be bearable, but not this time. The phones' coverage area is not very good and I cannot use the phone in many places (I live in NYC), but it was ok, because I don't really use phones. Yet, if they can change the phone number without my authorizations and this is what they do after that, I will change to major cell phone companies.

TracFone - Unable to transfer time and minutes to new phone

Tried to transfer minutes and time to upgraded phone by following site instructions which stated I was successful. A few minutes later I received the message service disabled . Resulting in neither phone working and a message to call customer service. When I called customer service I had a representative who barely spoke English and told me after 30 minutes that she could not resolve the problem and to wait 2 days and call back. Neither cell phone works and customer service was useless. I quit I am out $30 for a new phone card. In the future, I shall buy 60 minutes only!

I have been trying to activate a tracfone since 01/01/2020 and today is 03/06/2020!! I have been told every thing you can name.

Told I was a thief the phone belonged to a person living in Alabama. Well I bought the phone from Tracfone! Then they told me the serial number would be erased and I would not have this problem. No serial number no phone!

Tried using 2 separate cards with pin numbers. Told, both times the pin number had already been activated. Now wait 24 to 72 hrs. and see if it comes on!

Here is what I think. Most of the service is in Vietnam-get the pin numbers and sell them-make extra money for the agents. I still do not have a phone, but I have a number 850-319-****. I talked with AG ofc.

and they may investigate this, because my thinking of what could be happening is a sound idea. Also, contacted there corporate office in Miami. (They claim is in Miami!) This is a bigger joke than all! I am out over $100.00 and no phone.

I hope the AG ofc destroys them!

I'd rather pass a bowling ball size kidney stone with spurs than upgrade with tracfone. I love my tracfone when it works. I have upgraded or had to get a new phone twice and both times I spent hours trying to fix their screw ups. They lost my number both times and changed my cell tower provider so I couldn't get a signal. they would send me a new phone that took a week or more to get here and it wouldn't work. I did notice that the last week when I had to call them I did get an understandable English speaking person.

my phones clock got messed up some how so i called customer survice and after the half hour wait they were rather helpful because the couldnt help me they sent me a new phone and added minuets on to it however when the ne phone came i went online to activate it i kept gttting the message saying it could not complete the transaction so im sitting on the phone now waiting for customer survace to pick it up i was told 15 min wait ive been on the phone for almost 1.5 hours i cant wait to get a non tracfone for cell all for something as simple as activating my new phone with my old number this sucks
