TracFone disabled a recently purchased phone without notice

I had been using a phone number for more than four years. The screen my phone got cracked so I ordered a new phone and asked for my number to be transferred to the new device. I made two calls on the new device, then TracFone disabled my access to the phone number. The company says it got a call from another customer saying the transfer of the number was not authorized even though I was the customer using the number for more than four years. They are demanding documentation of proof of purchase. They say it will take up to five business days to verify. How the company could not perform a simple transaction of transferring the number to a new device is astonishing.

User's recommendation: Choose any provider other than Tracfone.

TracFone - Loss of minutes

My husband's tracfone got wet last week. The same day, I upgraded from an android smart phone to an Iphone. Because he needed a phone we transferred his service to my old phone. It is a touch phone and he has no sense of touch on his right hand due to a accident, but he was going to use it with the stylus. So I ordered him a flip phone. When I cAlled to activate the flip phone. I was told he would lose his 780 minutes because it was a downgrade. He is going to try to use the android until December when he has to top up whatever minute are left we are going to try to transfer to my phone, we hope. Minutes are minutes. You paid for them and they should transfer to any phone you want. Ridiculous.

Just called tracfone as you suggested and the answer was that the minutes "WON'T WORK. " a downgrade as the flip phone.

I said the minutes were transient the smartphone form a regular phone.

They did however say I can transfer whatever minutes off the smartphone to my Iphone. Such a load of crap.

TracFone - Representative lies about activating phone

The representative kept me on the phone at least 1/2 hour while she fiddled around pretending to help me. It should be straight forward like my Walmart family tracphone. Just enter serial number, pin number, and some personal information. Also supply a service plan number. I activated my WFM LG phone easy peasy. This gal just kept pretending I needed to keep trying *73 which is their Verizon helpline which just bounces the customer off. And i already paid for phone and service card. Then finally she says it needs another sim card. Phony! If it takes time to activate just tell me one two or three days! I am NOT going to get another sim card or paying for another device and service card. These are those Verizon foreign operators. Verizon. ***

TracFone - Stupidity and idiocy of "helpers"

I purchased a TracFone for a total cost of 176.33. I tried to activate my newly purchased phone and it was impossible since I didn't have a "pin" number. In order to get my NEW COSTLY FONE activated, I needed to pay another $11.35 to activate the phone. My question is: if I paid $176.33 for the phone (which, by the way, was only $39.65) and I paid 1500 for time, etc., why do I need to pay another $11.35 to activate the phone? I'm so aggravated I could scream as I've been on the phone with the idiots that work for TracFone who keep telling me I don't have any money in an account. If not why does my Visa account show the $176.33?

TracFone - 3rd Worst in 30 Years

Tried to activate 3 phones. 8 trips to Target, $40 in free Target Cards, which isn't worth $2 per hour, Failure after Failure with customer service. Filed a complaint with Attorney General, fixed temporarily. Following month 1,400 minutes disappeared. Bought 3 one year plans. Asked to cancel and was required to provide proof. Once I provide proof they only authorized the return of one plan that had 11 months. The other one I was instructed to provide the scratch off card from the store which I threw out after activation. Hold onto you card from the store. If you register online make sure to get a print out. They will not refund, even if you buy online with a credit card. Extremely poor customer service, multiple hang ups. Transfered 7 times to get to a decision maker. The cost to sue isn't worth it so they make their money buy playing the game of we can only refund one out of 3 phones. Spend the extra $500 and go with a regular carrier. You may still have billing issues to fight but the product should work.

TracFone - Lost of money and lack of customer service

Bought TracFone And a $35 airtime card at Kmart in Middleburg Hts, OH. I tried several times to activate my phone and was informed that the airtime card was invalid. I went back and forth between TracFone tech support and Kmart and no one could or would help me. Finally I had to purchase a new airtime card so that I could activate my phone. Now I am out of $35. Sad way to treat a senior citizen. I contacted TracFone technical support for four days. Every time they told me to go back to Kmart to make sure the card was scanned. I went to Kmart every time that TracFone told me to go. Kmart informed me, we just sell the cards other than that we know nothing.

TracFone - 26 days of phone calls

I received my SIMM card on Feb 2/18. Tried to activate my phone, the site told me to call them After a two hour, five minute talk on the phone, I was told the SIMM card I was given was incorrect and they would send a new one in two or three days. After eight days the SIMM arrived, I called, them was told to wait 24 hours and the phone would work After 24 hours, called Tracfone again. Was told the SIMM card was incorrect. I told them we had done this already. I asked if I had to wait 24 hours to be told I need a new SIMM, She told me it was the only way, so I agreed and I was told it would be delivered in 3 days After 13 days the SIMM arrived, called Tracfone, was told that the first SIMM was the correct one. Was told to wait 24 hours for the phone to work. This is a summary of over four and a half hours of phone time with Tracfone. I gave up. I went back to Target, told them Tracfone was impossible to deal with. They said no problem and refunded all my money Thank=you to Target, BOO to Tracfone.I will never darken their door again
