No refund for defective new phone

Hours on the phone with reps to make their new phone work. Hopeless. No instructions from maker of phone no separate SIM card as we have done before. Assumed SIM card inside. Was sold as a new phone. Believe trade in under a promotion program. Sent back Certified mail and they received it on November 25, 2025 in their headquarters in Miami, FL. 5 letters some 11 techs over time. They never responded to any of our letters or resolution until our last phone calls. Losing some $255 but they don't seem to care. We have been customers for some 20+ years but no more.

Refusal for Refund of Defective I--Phone

Multiple phone calls to Tracfone service reps with nothing settled. Multiple letters including a certified letter to Tracfone with the return of their defective iPhone.

Wife investigated the phone and determined that it was not a new phone but a used one.

It could not call out nor receive any phone calls. .

Wife thought that she might like a new phone as the other Tracfone she has had for some time simply wasn't cutting it. So we went on the Tracfone site and selected an iPhone 5 new phone as advertised.

We have used Tracfones for years and they have been good. Personally, I have a flip phone I've had for years again from Tracfone. Anyway, it simply did not work. There was no usual new phone information whatsoever except for a small piece of paper from Tracfone simply saying to turn it on.

I personally called a rep and said no instructions should it be charged first. She said of course. Then the trouble was it would not call out or receive calls. We called a multitude of Tracfone people to get it to work—no luck, so we said we would send it back to the last tech rep.

On November 25th, 2025, they received it as indicated by certified mail at their Miami, Florida, Resolution Center. No correspondence back. I sent a subsequent five letters to them about a refund, but nothing back whatsoever. Then we went through four reps on the telephone.

First, they said they never got it, then they finally said we did, and then they said no SIM card in the phone? We assumed the card was inside as no SIM card was sent separately to install when the new phone arrived. Before we sent the phone, we determined that this phone was manufactured five years before. Now we believe this was a used telephone traded in under their promotion programs.

Okay, final chapter: we went through another four reps in recent days, with one first stating 'unfortunately,' then we were cut off. Others hung up on us after we kept insisting you have our phone, give us a refund. The phone cost about $240 and about $15 to ship back to them certified mail. At this time, if anyone is looking for a phone with service, do not use Tracfone.

We will never use Tracfone again, as when our paid-for service ends, we will go elsewhere.

The company might have been good before, but now to use it is simply related to telephone service mafia. 'Run' from this disreputable company.

Almost five hours on phone still did not fix problem

After hours and hours, I went to sales to get anyone live who double charged my credit card and still no extended time showing it was loaded on the phone on the website. Five hours in total, close to it yesterday with them still not fixed. Now I am overcharged, the phone is set to expire, and I have to get a credit for the overcharge.

I won't hold my breath when will someone actually fix the problem. Never apparently ten years a customer, it has gone way downhill for sure.

Nothing of what was said, the offer just said $10 off. When asked to place the 1000 points back onto the rewards, I am told it cannot be done. The discount code is valid for device purchases rather than refills.

I'm sorry to inform you that reward points cannot be reversed once redeemed. That should have been revealed when the promo code was presented!

I don't speak Spanish

Last summer, my i14 was stolen. That same day, I went to Walmart and purchased an i13.

Now the phone locks up and called 911 twice. I was wondering if the phone is still under warranty and how to get a replacement.

passed, he was still on the line, and then he informed that the new phone had a new number, something that I told him not to do it, that I needed the same old number.

He tried to delete the new number, and couldn't do it. Well, I ended up with a worthless new phone, all because that technician screwed up.
