6Wks, 5SimCards,1 new phone 20+ hours on hold!

I've been trying to get my phone straightened out for over 6 weeks. All of a sudden my service was really poor, could not receive calls or make calls at home. Tracfone said it was because I activated my phone from a different zip code, which I did not. 5 sim cards later, 10 days without service, 1 new phone (which they sent me) and more than 20 hours on hold it's still screwed up. They changed my phone number with one of the sim card changes and didn't tell me, I couldn't get calls and it was because they had disconnected my original phone number, didn't tell me and replaced it. Now I can't get my old number back they say because it 'expired'. It will take me hours (20+) plus the cost of new business cards to change my phone number with all of my contacts, accounts etc.... I couldn't be madder and more disappointed. I've been a loyal tracfone customer for over 8 years and have never had a problem until I bought a new smartphone. I have 2700 minutes, data, text so don't want to just trash the account. I WANT MY PHONE NUMBER BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will only contact Tracfone again if you 100% assure me that my problem can be fixed. I do not have another 20+ hours of my time free to deal with Tracfone.

I have to get busy spending many hours notifying everyone who I want to have my correct phone number that it has been changed by Tracfone without my permission and they won't give me my original phone number back. My last contact with Tracfone was 3 hours with 2 1/2 of the time on HOLD! Waste of my time and Tracfone does not seem to care.

So, can you guarantee me 100% that if I contact Tracfone I will get my original number returned to me if it is not yet assigned to another phone?

tracfone has replaced 3 fones AT MY EXPENSE and sent me a bunch of simcards that dont work. Wait times for assistance are long and they usually they dont fix the problem.

the tracfone reps. ask the same questions over and over. they always say they are checking on my account yet ask for my address or phone number, lol, sometimes they ask my name they are unable to record any of this info to pass on the the next rep who does the same thing. and the process of me providing all my account info over and over again.

The phones they sold me were all different brands and prices. The original phone I had worked fairly well until the last time I bought more days and minutes, then every thing went badly.

Tracfone took two months and 3 phones to get one to work in my area. Lousy customer service and tech support.

I bought a tracfone the one they said would work in my area. It didn't it took 3 hours on the phone to figure that out.

They sent another with new card and after another 2 hours on the phone with them that one didn't work either they said they were updating and expanding areas of coverage.

The 3rd phone with a different type of SIM card finally worked but not really...I can't make a call in the house and the whole town is a dead zone for this phone...no one else's phone service just tracfone. Don't waste your time or money on a Tracfone there are plenty of no contract companies now a days go to $45 a month Straight Talk, it's a better deal without the hassles of Tracfone a company that has outlived it's worth.

Why.buy straight talk it is the same company?? You will only have more problems.

When customer service is outsourced to foreign countries, instead of Florida. They were sued but it did not change anything.

Cheap service for low price is what you get. Do not buy

See if your area has Access Wireless. They offer government funded Smartphones and will transfer your service from any other LifeLine company.

Google AccessWireless.com and there will be a phone number to call to inquire and enroll. I have used all of them and Access has been the best.

I was lucky to get a Samsung Galaxy Ring, but it depends on what they have in stock at any given time. You may get a CoolPad phone which isn't the greatest but it is a SmartPhone.

I have called customer service 10 times in the past week. Nobody has the same answer for 1 question.

My phone is malfunctioning and it is under warranty, I asked for a replacement phone. Well the first person I talked to said I would not have to send my malfunctioning phone back, that tracfone would just send me a replacement phone. A few days later I received a box that was to send my phone to tracfone. So I called and asked another person, and he said that my replacement phone was coming in a few days, and when it came then I had to switch over all my info to the new phone, and then send the malfunctioning phone back.

The new phone never came, so I called back again!! This time the woman said I had to send my malfunctioning phone back, and then they would send me the new phone.

I am about ready to sue!!!! Figure out your ***, or don't have a company!!!

Resolved: Great service until ANYTHING gets complicated

We have had our Tracfones for about six months, and we use auto refill. The coverage is great. The phones are nice. However, I dropped my phone and shattered it about a week ago. Since a new phone was less expensive than replacing the screen, we bought a new one. Overnight free express delivery was right on time. Phone was activated and worked for two days. My husband called to see why the old phone number hadn't ported, and they told him it had already been turned back over to Sprint. They couldn't explain why that happened, since this was just a device replacement. But it was too late to fix it. Fine. However, somewhere as a result of that call, ALL minutes, ALL data, and ALL texts were lost. After two more hours on the phone with a variety of "customer service agents" I have a phone that doesn't work unless I pay for more minutes. I use my phone rarely. I almost never text. And suddenly both run out on the same day at the same time WHILE we are talking to Tracfone. And in order to get a detailed record of my call, my phone has to work and I have to send a sworn affidavit to them. (And yes, you can't get a person in the US to answer the phone, no matter what time of day you call.)

Lost over $300.00 dollars

I bought a (smart phone?) and transferred my min and days from old phone to this phone on Aug 27 2016. Minutes were in excess of 4500 and days were in excess of 2years. I use the phone only for in car and when Im out in the yard for emergency only. my children and grandchildren think grandpa doesn't have enough time or days on phone, so I get a lot of cards to use. Used phone last week and had over 4000 minutes and 2 years of time on it. Tried to use phone last night, and was informed my account was empty and to add time. Where did it go? Called and was informed account was empty and asked to talk to (supervisor?) next person at the counter in the boiler room. Was told by WITNEY (supervisor for the moment) that she checked with another department and yes my account was empty. I asked what happened and no answer is available. Must be my fault as there computers show my account is empty. Nothing they can do. I have been a customer for over 10 years, and was never treated like today. Another Mexican business ripping America. Hope they go bankrupt..

20 days with out my phone

ok ky tracphone goes out. I call customer service, thet tried to help couldn't help so they said they would send me a new sim card and it would take 10 days to get it. I got it in 10days and was glad I would be able to use my phone again. Not the case, I installed the new sim card called to activate they for whatever reason couldn't activate it and said they would have to send me another new sim card which is going to take another 10 days thats 20 days without my phone. so I will now have 3 sim cards, lets hope the next one works. I am considering getting away from Tracfone, I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years and this is unexceptable I need to be able to use my phone in order to do my job

TracFone - Service is barley working now.
OMG. Been with tracfone for years. Now since July when they reported a 1.8 billion loss, service across the US is bad. On Facebook, they give you a standard reply - contact us. Well I did, 3 times, and still waiting for an answer. About 4 weeks ago my phone which usually has 3 bars, started loosing signals, dropping calls, went on searching for service for hours. Also it missed calls. People would tell me they called 4 times, and got my answering machine. I never heard it ring, nor did it inform me of any voice mails. Checked out a website called down detector dot com and it shows that half the US has bad tracfone service. What is up with this? They refuse to address the issue. Customer service is a joke, IF you get someone who can actually speak american, you are lucky. Think its time to start looking for a different service.

Impossible To Resolve Problems

Below is part of the official complaint that I have filed with the Federal Communications Commission, omitting only my account data. On December 2, 2016 I ordered a Samsung S550TL cell phone online directly from Tracfone, which I received on December 5. Before I ordered this particular Samsung model, I talked with a Tracfone agent to be sure that it accessed the Verizon network since I cannot receive calls from ATT towers. She asked for my zip code and assured me that the Samsung phone would work. After I received the phone, I activated it in my office downtown and only used it there for several days. When I tried to call from my home, however, I could not receive a signal. After some time on a chat line with a Tracfone agent on December 13, I discovered that it was a GSM phone using the ATT network. I was only able to receive one bar when I stood at the corner of my 2nd story outside balcony. When I told “Alberto” this on the tracfone hotline, he responded: “The phone should be used in an area where it is able to get signal so it can work.” As I told him, this was unacceptable: was I supposed to step outside in sub-freezing temperatures every time I wanted to make a call? I did some further research and discovered that I need a CDMA phone. I returned the Samsung phone on December 16 via two-day USPS express. According to the USPS, the phone arrived at Tracfone's Indiana shipping address on December 19. I have received no information about returning payment to my account. I have challenged the charge for the phone on my credit card bill. Until I am refunded the cost of the phone which I returned, I decided to reactivate my old phone. After a lengthy chat session with “Mary” on December 22, I succeeded in reactivating my old phone. But when I tried to make a call, I got a voice prompt indicating that I had no funds in my account. I checked my phone account app and it showed 0 minutes, 0 text messages available and 0 data available. Since I have over the past couple of years built up a large reserve of minutes, text messages and data, I haven’t checked my account in some time but the last time I checked some months ago I had well over 1,000 minutes. Once again, I returned to a chat line. (I have great difficulties in understanding tracfone's agents who often speak with pronounced accents.) When I talked to “Hanzel” he informed me that I had 46 airtime minutes. Quite apart from the fact that, as I said, I have hundreds of minutes, this is inconsistent with the fact that I cannot make a call and my account lists zero minutes. I continued to wait while Hanzel “looked into the matter.” After I had been on the phone for nearly 30 minutes, I gave up.
