Tracfone Sucks

Tried to help an 85 year old customer activate his Tracfone. Didn't activate right away and I was told to wait an hour. Called customer service and they had me punch in a bunch of codes and told me to wait two hours. Still nothing and called back after waiting 2 hours so I called back again. Got the run around again. Took me through some steps again and then told me I had to wait 4 hours. By the time the next 4 hours were up still no phone number and they were closed so I had to call again the next day. Same routine all over again and then got told I needed to give them my address so they could send me a new sim card. Are you joking with this. But I did just to see what was next. Do you know they told me my address was one there system did not recognize and they could not send a sim card to that address. I was ticked. I was determined to help this elderly fella get a working phone. So I bought him another one myself figuring I could return his and have the minutes that were already on the phone he purchased removed and put on the one I just bought. Would you believe the same exact thing happened all over again. For what good it will do I am going to contact their customer service dept. I am pissed and it isn't even my phone

Abolute worst service

I had been having to call tech support about once a month. My cell phone service was not working more than it was. I had spent more time talking to customer service on someone else’s phone than I spoke to people on my phone. Then they screwed up my account even worse: lost my minutes, days, even my phone number. They kept telling me they could not recover the information and do not give refunds. After four or five phone calls totaling four or five hours, and being told to call back again tomorrow- I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. It took nearly two months to get a response. The minutes they could not recover in five hours suddenly became possible in less than five minutes. However, being two months after the fact, I had already changed carriers. I received a refund for the unused time. Don't let them get away with the ***. If customer service is not willing to solve the problem file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau Florida. www.bbbsoutheastflorida.org

First: Pay everything using s credit card (Visa, MC, AMEX). Second: If the company doesn't hold to their end of the deal, dispute the charge with your credit card company. If you paid for minutes but didn't get them, then you're in the right and are likely to be refunded by the card company, and Tracfone will get a chargeback.

Don't trust Tracfone

I was a customer of Tracfone for a year and was mostly happy with the affordable and reliable phone service, albeit on *** phones. I bought a new phone the next year to be able to text better, because the touch screen phone I had was terrible. Being able to keep my same phone number was VERY important to me, as I have it printed on business cards and have given it out to my kids' schools, etc. After spending HOURS on the phone with customer service, technical support, and managers over a 3 week period of time, being sent a new SIM card, and much aggravation, I was told that my old number is no longer available. Tracfone stated that they would not compensate me because it is in the terms of service that they can deactivate a number at any time.

Phone not working since may 17 2013

My phone is now working. I filed a complaint with the BBB.

Better business bureau.They contacted tracfone.

I am able to receive calls and send them also. Also i can send text messages.Problem solved.

I have a mom who is 95 yrs.old and when im not home my brother stays with her.Being that phone is not working how can i check on her without a working phone?What if the took my mom to hospital or she had to go the hospital?How can i check on her if phone is not working?How could anyone reach me if phone is not working?

I tried to activate phone on i bought on amazon.I have many emails to them also talked to customer service rep. many times.Spent a lot of time waiting on phone for a rep. and alsotalking to reps. a long time.Getting different answers all the time.Got a new SIM card was activated now phone says unregistered SIM. How can that be?Also i asked to put my phone. in 216-543-****. another phone no. is in the phone. when will this issue be resolved?I also lost minutes on my phonetrying to text and set up the voicemail.

It's amazing, in the two updates that you posted, your wording is almost perfect, but in the original post, your wording doesn't make any sense. You must be doing something wrong, because I have been using Tracfones for years and never had any problems with them or with customer service.

Furthermore, IF your brother stays with your mother while you aren't there, what are you worried about.

I would assume your brother would have a way of getting hold of you, if necessary.

MONTHLY PYMT PLANS!!!

BOTH TRAC PHONE AND NET 10 TOTALLY RIP YOU OFF ON THE MONTHLY PLANS.... THEY DONT CONSISTENTLY CHARGE YOU ON THE CORRECT DATES. THEY CLAIM IT'S A 30DAY PLAN BUT OVER AND OVER THEY ARE CHARGING AT 28DAYS...THEY THEN OFFER YOU AN EXTENSION BUT NEGLECT TO TELL YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO UNENROLL IN THE AUTO CHARGE TO GET THOSE DAYS. GOOD LUCK GETTING ANYONE WHO SPEAKS ENGLISH OR IS DOING THEIR JOB W/O READING A SCRIPT PRE WRITTEN FOR THEM. ALSO...IF YOU ARE ASKING FOR ASSISTANCE IN RESETTING YOUR PHONE,YOU CAN PROBABLY DO IT YOURSELF BY READING ONLINE INSTRUCTIONS...THATS WHAT THEY ARE DOING. AND... DONT EVER ASK FOR YOUR MONEY BACK.

Useless customer service

I purchased credit from this company several days ago. I have yet to receive any minutes, despite the charge appearing on my credit card. phoning customer service was painful - 2 menus, entering my phone number, and then they *actually hang up on you* if they have any sizable que. I find that unacceptable to begin with. Eventually I get into a 20 minute que, only to be informed that 'your account has no minutes purchased'. Well, yea, I know it's not registering my purchase. That's why I'm calling. Not only was I just shut down by the customer service representative who made no attempt at all to resolve my issue - she went as far as to tell me there was no credit, and that was it. Nothing more. - she then had the cheek to asks me if I wanted to purchase credit now! *** no, I do not. I am disputing the charge through the credit card company; doing it through them is pointless.

Activating phone was very difficult

I bought a new LG 440G for TraCfone service. This was a replacement for another LG that didn't work very good. Then, I dropped it on the floor with no hope of anything being done for me. So, I bought a new one and proceeded to get the phone activated and some more time added. It had a token 10 minutes on it as purchased. It took one hour and ten minutes on the phone to accomplish this. It was very difficult to understand what the technician was saying. I am a "senior citizen" and such people sometimes have hearing problems. I have an amplifier on my landline phone (the phone I used to activate the new TracFone) and I was wwearing my brand new, and very expensive hearing aids

I was on the phone with someone from India for more than an hour. I could barely understand him.

The effort required to transfer my old phone number to the new TracFone was going to take hours or perhaps days.

I got so frustrated trying to understand his questions and the time it was taking I finally hung up. I intend to take the phone back to Safeway where I bought it.

Tracfone Nightmare

It took me days and several trips back to the point of purchase before I could get my phone activated. 3 experienced cell phone clerks tried and finally the department supervisor called Tracfone and after 35 minutes and several Tracfone employees, the phone was activated. But we could not make or receive international call. We were repeatedly told the number we were calling (our home phone) was invalid. After 6 months of trying the "good neighbor program", we were told no additional numbers were available. The system was full. We have been trying for the past 3 days to purchase additional minutes. They keep saying our credit card info is invalid. Wrong

My internet hasnt worked in 3 months

i call costumer service. they say i went over my data totals on my un limited data plan .my internet doesnt work i could not have used any data they keep transfering me to a computer after i tell them i want to talk to a supervisor or they just hang up on me half of june and all of april this happens i want a refund plus copensation for the buisness i lost out on when it is clearly your fault when the records are checked scott brannan 1902 w bellmont phoenix arizona 85021 ph 480 225 **** thank you

Tracfone gives NO SERVICE despite 4 bars.

Our prepaid Tracfone cell phone have lots of minutes and days, show 3-4 bars, but won't send or receive calls. The phones show NO SERVICE; Call Restriction -34.

EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY. This seems to happen at least once a month and last for hours/days. It appears to be a bug in Tracfones database system. It renders the Tracfones useless.

It happens on both of our Tracfones. On top of this, Tracfone Tech Support works Bankers hours and doesn't help much even if you do get through.

Can only email for help; then they don't send a useful response. that's the jist of it.

My sad Tracfone story

I see there are already several consumer complaints here against Tracfone, and all I can say is that I wish I had seen this site before choosing them for my phone service. I'm not a huge cell phone user and I just wanted something cheap and reliable that would get good reception in the Los Angeles, California area and allow me to send and receive the occasional text message. I thought Tracfone would be a good way to go, and in fact I was reasonably happy with their service until some bonus minutes I was supposed to receive for using a promotional code failed to show up on my phone. I then discovered that Tracfone has atrocious customer service, probably the worst I have ever received. Their website makes it nearly impossible to contact them directly via email and calling their customer service line means endless waits to speak with know-nothing call center drones in the Philippines (they'll tell you they're in Miami, but don't believe it). Ironically (for a phone company), their reps' phone system seem to have been fashioned from old Spam cans, making it hard to understand what they're saying. Only after fruitless hours of arguing did I manage to get this number: 1-80*-876-****. That number gets you through to the "Executive Resolution" department, and from what I can tell it really IS in Miami, where I believe Tracfone is based. It is the ONLY number I recommend if you are having a customer service issue. I was able to speak with an actual U.S.-born representative and did eventually receive the minutes to which I was entitled. She was the ONLY Tracfone rep I had a good experience with. Sad to say that despite the fact that my problem was ultimately resolved, Tracfone has lost me as a customer, as I never want to go through that nightmare again. I will use up the minutes I have now and that's it.

Stolen minutes

when i tried to trasfer my minutes to another phone my 2000 and some minutes, disapeared when I said I want them back supervisor said I never had that many minutes on phone!!!!!! YES I did ,,,,can't get them back so I any going to give minutes away on my other tracfone and deactivate both and go with a company who doesn't steal minutes..............maybe thats how they make their profits. The phone belong to my mom so now shes out the price of minutes and the phone. can't trust them don't want the phone either will find somthing else for her

Tracfone Website is the worst

Today all I wanted to do was add minutes to my cell phone. When I was done the minutes I had bought on their site was assigned to my fathers phone not mine. When I contacted them about correcting this issue they kept repeating will maybe you hit the wrong thing causing this to happen. I got so mad I hung up and filed a complaint on the website. This prompted a please call in and we will try to resolve this issue. Then they tell me they can't just move my minutes to my phone but all of my fathers minutes would have to be moved to my phone turning his phone off. I ask them if they can cancel the order and they tell me we don't do refunds. As a result of this line of BS I have contacted my credit card provider to dispute the charges. When I inform them of my intent and to slam them on the internet they just acted like it was my fault as I made the order online and their system shows that it was for his phone and not mine. The FCC needs to shut these people down.

TRACFONE drained minutes and they will not replace

I have had tracfones for many years and suffered through their poor, poor customer service. The last phone was defective and drained out minutes when I was not using the phone. After 3 mangers I finally get a replacement sent which was refurbished and of course it did not work. I need another sim, the one they provided in the phone has been deactivated for no reason. The customer service reps and mangers are horribly rude and will not give minutes back that I paid for. I will try to use up the phone if it ever works and switch to another service. Rude rude rude rude customer service!!!!!!!!!!! No phone for 2 weeks and 5 hours of time wasted.

Transfer my one tracphone # to new tracphone

I do know what else I can do! I have been on the phone for over 4 hours with these idiots. They finally got it to work and then I went to use it and it was deactivated. Is there anything I can do about this. These people are so rude and passive I just want to jump through the phone. I guess I'm out all this money because I can't deal with these people another second. How does a company with such bad customer service last so long? Just rambling to reach my one hundred words. Just about there!

unfortunately companies with such bad customer service survive because society has allowed it. most give up, forget it, whatever...but that's what happens when big business can hide at the end of a phone line. if these companies where required to have business offices in a neighborhood near you, might be a different story.....
