Verified Buyer |TracFone refuse to cancel an order that had not yet shipped to the wrong address.
I purchased online a phone and plan for my granddaugter who lives in a different city from me and paid for expedited shipping. However, moments later, I felt that I had the wrong shipping address on that order.
So as not to lose any shipping and delivery time, . I reordered the same phone and plan with the correct address also with expedited shipping and attempted to cancel the first order. Tracfone refuse to cancel the order, telling me that I have to refuse the package and get a refund. But if the package is being delivered to my granddaughter while she is at school; how will anyone refuse the package and if the first order was shipped to the wrong address, who is the party expected to refuse the shippment?
Really there should be some way to cancel an incorrect order before it is shipped! And given the fact that I reordered, the company was not losing any business. So frustrating'; I was on the phone and on chat for hours to no avail.
I think I will cancel with my credit card company and just not do business with TRACFONE! To boot, they did not honor their 15% discount code: WELCOME15 as sent to me in an email offer that same day!

On Jan 23 2024 i had a problem with a tracfone. We spent 2 hours on the phone with them trying to fix this .
The phone was locked up & could not be unlocked or even turned off . Finally the tracfone agent said to they would send a shipping label to return it and then they would send a replacement phone. First, they repeatedly sent an emails that did not include the link to print the label, or a QR code. Although there was a ticket number attached, UPS would not take it.
So I myself paid to have the phone shipped back on Jan 23 2024. They received it on Jan 24 2024. It is now Feb 20 2024. I have been calling repeatedly , and every time they say they are waiting for a replacement phone to send me.
I think they are waiting for *** to freeze over. I call every 3-5 business days. I get transferred 2 or 3 times and have to repeat my story each time. Every time they say I am so sorry and I will escalate the ticket.
They are like robots, programmed with the same phrase : call back in 3 to 5 days. We have 3 tracfone accounts including this one which go back more than 10 years. They don't care that we will cancel them all. They've always had customer service problems, but nothing like this.
They may give a good price, but it's not worth this . If they weren't going to replace to the phone, okay, just say so. Don't drag this on for almost a month now.
They refuse to let me talk to a supervisor or to the Warehouse on whom they blame the problem. They say they cannot send back the broken phone I sent to them.

Verified Reviewer |Tracfone deleted my usage, again (Third time)
Two weeks after Tracfone restored my missing large balances they disappeared again, the third time! When not able to make a call or send a text I checked my balances (usage) - all zeros (Mins:0 SMS: 0 Data: 0.) again!
Nothing changed on my end, they just disappeared. This is the third time in the past three months that my usage was deleted. It may not have been intentional but the fact that Tracfone will not confirm my missing balances or validate my proof and restore ticks me off. I offered several means of proof to no avail.
Multiple attempts to get my large balances (usage) restored through their support were fruitless.
Total waste of time. Finally, someone from Tracfone's ERD Management contacted me, and promised to restore my missing balances but may take upwards of a week. The week came and went, but my balances were never restored. More lies!
I estimated the loss of those balances at around $900.00. Maybe it is time to get the AG involved or just give the finger to Tracfone and move on.
User's recommendation: Do your research before doing business with Tracfone. Trust the negative reviews like mine. Things may not change now that Tracfone is under Verizon's roof.

Missing 9 year rollover balances have been restored by Tracfone.
I asked TF to go back and check my balances but they won't. I offered to send them proof (611611 Balances and screen captures of my balances from within my TF account) but not interested. I escalated this to their ERD Management team who were supposed to assist in cases like this and offered to help but didn't. I am not optimistic that I will ever recover those balances.
I estimated my losses at between $800-$900.00. I can now see why Tracfone has a ONE-STAR rating with the BBB.
Future Tracfone users should take notice. Once my plan expires, I will not renew.

Do not waste your time trying to win prizes. Scamtalk will not reward you. Even had a rep tell me there are other customers with the same problem.

Hi, this is my third pissed consumer review and nothing still has been done. They give me 2 ticket numbers and promised that something will get done and thy will call me when they are finished looking into my problem.NEVER HAPPENED.
I waisted my time.I told them to go to tracfonewireless.com and my phone number isnt even listed under my account. They ask me the same questions every time, ask me for my outgoing phone numbers over the last 60 days.
I gave all 18 agents the same 45 numbers and they dont have any records of them.They ask me what my first car was and they tell me that isnt my first car.I just want to talk to an American in the USA to get something done but they dont seem to want to help a 15 plus year customer.If you can find one that wants to help have them call ma at 740-795-****. I wont hold my breath.

Returned defective phone
I was told to return the phone. The rep sent me a return label and instructions.
I returned the phone six weeks ago. Was told they would replace the phone after receiving return. Now they tell me they never received the phone. I have proof thru ups that it was delivered.
They refuse to check on ups tracking and will only go by their system. Well someone messed up at their warehouse somewhere. They have the phone and I have nothing. They tell me they won't do anything about it.
This is a rip off. They are crooks. I have proof it was delivered.
It's not my fault their warehouse messed up but now I'm out a phone. I will be changing companies.

I have been with Tracfone for about 20 years (many phones). I had to port out a Tracfone number to a new T-Mobile phone/service due to international travel but needed to recover my time (2300 days) and min/data/texts to use with a new tracfone number on the original phone.
In a very detailed chat with a Tracfone agent I was told to port out the tracfone number first then reach out to Tracfone to get a new number after which I "get to recover the minutes, texts and data remaining as (well as) the months of unlimited service remaining". I ordered a Tracfone SIM, ported the Tracfone number out to Tmobile and called Tracfone within 2 days of the number porting out to get my new Tracfone number and recover all the minutes/texts/data and service time. I was told that because I ported the number out first (like the Tracfone agent told me to do) I forfeited all the service time/data/min. I have the chat transcript from Chuck (Tracfone agent) from 8/18/23 at around 5:40 PM EST where he clearly told me to port out the number first and that I would be able to recovery everything.
Tracfone Agent Mary (Ref #18431****) was the first to indicate that agent Chuck had lied to me and was very apologetic but said she could not do anything to fix it. At my insistence Mary escalated to "Corporate" who called me back. Agent Jelsa from "corporate" was the second to relay to me essentially that Chuck had lied to me and she was also apologetic but said she also could not do anything. I gave her the day/time of my chat with Chuck (I wanted to read it to her but she declined) and she says she sent a report to "higher management" who would call me back in about 24 hours.
I asked for a reference number but she said there is none.
I await a call from "higher management" (expected 8/25/23) to see if they will allow me to recover my service time (2300 days!), minutes (unlim until ~11/2/23, then 0 rollover), texts (5800 rollover), and data (19 Gb until ~11/2/23 then 3.21 Gb rollover) as Tracfone agent Chuck clearly relayed they would or make it clear that Tracfone agents are free to lie/swindle Tracfone customers. The 2300 days (6.3 years) of service time alone is valued at $314 (6.3 years X $49.95/year)
Preferred solution: What the agent told me I would get (a new number and recovery of at least the rollover service time (2300 days), texts (5800), data (3.21 Gb). I can forego the unlimited plan time (until ~11/2/23) and data.
User's recommendation: Save your chats and write down the day and time. You will need to cut and paste from the chat window into a txt file as Tracfone has no way to email chat transcripts that I could find.
