Tracfone sent a refurbished phone 16 days ago. After spending 7 hrs. with numerous customer service people and repeating the same procedures on the NEW PHONE with them, I considered that this was a test to check my sanity. After a thorough mindcheck I realized that Tracfone service agents are the ones who are incapable of thinking on their own. I have an unlocked AT&T branded Samsung Galaxy S5 (model G900A) and called AT&T wireless support to inquire about how they go about enabling the Hotspot & Tethering on this phone (it uses AT&T firmware). Somehow in the process they transferred me to Tracfone support. Talked to 2 idiots there who had no idea what a Hotspot or Tethering feature is on a cell phone. Could not find an Internet site where I could get a replacement phone at no cost to me as promised in a letter I just received from Tracphone. Only a $20 discount on a new phone was offered. Telephone call to number provided in the letter provided no menu option remotely connected with the exchange. Tracphone is making it difficult if not impossible to get a free exchange phone. I talked to Arneal with Tracfone customer service. My Tracfone has been malfunctioning for over a week now. The phone kept loosing charge so bought a new battery, but still it would not hold a charge. Then the phone kept locking me out of "my acct" so now I can't login to add minutes. I am currently on HOLD with a rep who I can't understand while they are trying to activate a new phone for my mother and transfer her # and minutes. Thus far, I have wasted 2+ hours on this transaction. An on line transfer was unsuccessful and Omar on chat was worthless. I received a letter from tracfone telling me that 2G networks are being phased out in my area. I called tracfone to find out about the exchange and was connected with a lady I could barely understand. After several times asking the same questions she told me she would send a replacement phone. So my first phone was destroyed, and I bought a new one from Best Buy. I called, and was able to transfer all my data with little problems, even though the Indian lady was a bit pushy on the phone. For some *** unexplained reason, we had to buy a minute card to activate the phone, so we did. The free phone was a LG441G to replace a LG 420G, both bottom line flip phones. I use it primarily for emergencies while cycling so a basic flip phone is my best option. The new phone is a definite improvement over the 420 and arrived quickly. Considering all the horror stories, I delayed activation but eventually called the 1-800 number listed on the serial card. I have not been receiving any of my web notifications since changing from my 2G phone to my new 3G. Plus, the browser is slow and kicks you out with the message "page too large for mobile browser". This is BS and it was working fine on the 2G network. Get your act together Tracfone and give the service we are paying for. You have a lot of angry customers and talking to a customer service rep who has NO CONCEPT of the English language only... Read more
